Administrator override

Purpose

Permit "silent" modification of items that contain clerical errors without processing a change.

Since this rule permits unmanaged editing of previously-released database records, it should be set to True only when necessary, and returned to False as soon as the task is finished.

Description

True: Any user assigned the administrator role can modify the "static" attributes of pending, released and canceled items. Administrators will not be able to modify attributes that interrelate with an item's status or relationship to other items.

False: Item fields operate normally.

Data type

True/false

Recommended or default value

False

Details

This rule is intended only to fix clerical errors, so attributes that can be edited by the item trustee (or an analyst) and by product team members can't be modified by the administrator even when this rule is true.

If you do not clear the Administrator override rule during the current session, then the next time you log into PDXpert the application status bar will display the Administrator override is active message.

The following attributes may be modified by the administrator when the rule is true.
