Reset the administrator account

If all access to your database has been lost due to employee changes or human error, PDXpert can re-establish the "super administrator" account to have a blank password.

Anyone with access to the PDXpert Application Server console will be able to reset the super administrator account. The PDXpert client application will then provide full access to your PDXpert system configuration and product data. You should ensure that access to the computer on which the PDXpert Application Server has been installed has adequate access controls.

  1. Click the Stop button on the Maintenance tab.

  2. Click the Reset Admin button in the Database maintenance area.

The status text will indicate that the super administrator account has been reset, and will display the account user name that you must enter into the PDXpert client log-in window.

  3. Restart the service by clicking the Start button on the Maintenance tab.

You should now be able to log into the PDXpert client application: Type the user name into the Enter your account name textbox, leave the Enter your account password blank, and click the OK button.

If you have accidentally assigned more log-in accounts than the maximum users permitted by your PDXpert software license, the super administrator account will be the only account permitted to log in. Use the super administrator account to remove accounts until the total number of log-in accounts is within the maximum users permitted.
