Items: Documents and Parts
Documents and parts are the heart of any PLM system. PDXpert PLM lets you
create a virtually unlimited number of document types and part categories,
custom numbering and revisioning formats, and ―
in addition to the extensive set of standard properties ―
your own custom attributes.
While many PLM systems create an artificial barrier between items that your organization
manages and those of other organizations, PDXpert PLM unifies these into
a single interface that lets you reference any item in your database within any
other item, regardless of owning organization.

Create a virtually unlimited variety of document types,
part categories and custom properties

Define item numbers up to 70 alphanumeric characters, with prefix, sequentially-assigned,
suffix and skip characters (e.g., MIL-STD-100's I/O/Q/S/X/Z)

Define revisions up to 10 alphanumeric characters, with ability to skip invalid
characters

Manually or automatically assign revisions, using separate preproduction and production
revision sequences

Manage inventory commitment using lifecycle phases

Identify and assign tasks necessary to prepare the item for release

Research assemblies where item is used, and changes where item was released, canceled
or otherwise affected

Attach any number of files to an item; check-out/-in files for modifications without
conflicts

Define part materials and create Material Declaration reports
